Kitchen Organization Hacks: How to take your Kitchen from Basic to Pro

Learn how to organize your kitchen, the best kitchen organization hacks, and tools to turn your kitchen from basic to pro.

Have you noticed that keeping the kitchen clean and organized seems to be one of the most tedious tasks to do at home? Especially if you are a busy person with other important tasks to do but you also love cooking. It might be arduous to carry out your daily tasks and also make time for the kitchen.

There always seems to be one more chore left undone in the kitchen. One moment you clean the dishes, dry them and replace them, sweep and mop the floor, organize the cabinets and utensils, and it feels like everything is right in the world. The next minute, you are cooking and the kitchen is back in disarray.

Over the years, while going through the back and forth of disorganization in my kitchen, I learned some tips and tricks that have helped me keep my kitchen organized on most days.

How to organize your kitchen

Here are 10 tips on how to organize your kitchen like a pro and never have to worry about an average-looking kitchen again.

Note: Your kitchen should reflect your personality. Organizing your kitchen like a pro should not be an avenue to make your kitchen look like someone else’s. Rather you should focus on making your kitchen look and feel comfortable, neat, and easy to navigate.

 Wash Dishes as you Cook

The first and most important kitchen organization hack is washing your dishes as you cook. This might seem far-fetched if you have never tried it before. But trust me it will save you a whole lot of time and you won’t have to do anything but eat and rest when you’re done cooking.

While waiting for your water to boil or the rice to steam, load the dishwasher or put your dishes in the sink and wash them. By the time you are done cooking, all you will need to do is drain the dishes, dry them, and put them on their rack.

Washing dishes right away does not only help keep your kitchen organized, but it also aids kitchen hygiene. When dirty dishes are kept away for too long, germs and bacteria breed on them, which can cause all forms of illness. Stew and food stains also become sticky as time goes on and tough to get off when you finally wash.

Washing dishes immediately or while you cook is basically killing two birds with one stone.

Organize your kitchen by putting away the least used utensils

Another tip on how to organize your kitchen is to put away the least used item in your kitchen. Put them at the farthest corner of your cabinet or hide them away in the store. The less visible your utensils and kitchenware are, the more organized your kitchen will appear.

Put away the least used utensils

In kitchen organization, one of the most useful tips is to put away the utensils or kitchenware you often or never use. Some of them are the biggest pot in a set that only gets used when you have a large family gathering or party. Those mug sets you bought because they were pretty but rarely use should also be kept away or hidden behind the mugs you mostly use.

Someone else’s least used kitchenware might be different from yours. If you don’t bake often but you have measure spoons and baking tools, you might have to put them in the farthest corner of your kitchen cabinet. This might be different for those who enjoy baking and do it often.

Keep the most used utensils up-front

The opposite applies to your most used utensils. Kitchenware like table knives, cooking spoons, cooking ingredients, spices, etc., should be placed in an easily accessible place in your kitchen.

One of the ways to put your kitchen essentials upfront is by getting the right kitchen tools and kitchenware. Instead of buying cooking spoons one at a time, buy a cooking spoon set that comes with a storage box. This will help you organize your cooking spoons in one place.

You also don’t have to worry about looking for the right type of spoon for your meal. This cooking spoon set has 13 different spoons, a spoon rest, and a storage box

Instead of buying your knives one at a time, you can get a knife set that comes with storage space. This also adds beauty and charm to your kitchen.

Get Cabinet Racks

Another kitchen organization hack I learned was how to organize kitchen cabinets and it was made possible through the use of cabinet racks.

Kitchen cabinets are one of the integral parts of the kitchen. If well arranged, they make your kitchen space beautiful and easy to navigate. You don’t have to search for a long time before finding an appliance or dishware.

If you want your kitchen to be well organized and to stand out beautifully, cabinet racks will make it easier for you.

They also help create more storage space for plates, cups, and utensils.

Cabinet racks also help you figure out how to organize your kitchen cabinets because they come in custom sizes that can fit any of your kitchenware and you never have to worry about utensil placement. They simplify cabinet organization for you.

Get Drawer Organizers

One of the secret tips to organizing the kitchen that is most prevalent on the internet today is getting drawer organizers. Kitchen drawer organizers create more space in your drawers and cabinets.

The key to kitchen organization is in creating more storage space in smaller spaces.

So, instead of forcing your kitchenware into smaller spaces and ending up with a disorganized cabinet or drawer, get a kitchen drawer organizer or kitchen cabinet organizers which will help create more storage space for your kitchenware.

This will keep your kitchen well organized and also create more room for every kitchenware you own.

Organize your kitchen by investing in quality bins

Plastic bags are cheap for dirt disposal but they also affect the environment and most of them do not absorb water well. Putting dirt in a plastic bag that has no lid might also turn your kitchen into a breeding place for flies and insects.

It is important to go for quality bins that are environment-friendly and can be easily washed, dried, and kept neat at all times.

Here are some top-quality bins you can get for your kitchen:

Invest in Cleaning Tools

I will advise that if you truly want your kitchen to stand out, you should not find it excessive to invest in anything that will make organizing less stressful. Most importantly, cleaning tools.

Cleaning the kitchen has to be one of the most stressful chores in the kitchen after cooking. But when you invest in a vacuum that cleans itself without waiting for you to bend your back and sweep, or in a self-cleaning mop, these tools will make organizing easy and simple.

You won’t have to worry about the hard work of keeping your kitchen clean and organized.

Organize your kitchen by color-coding your dishwares

This is one trick to organizing your kitchen and loving your kitchen. If you want to fall in love with your kitchen, try color coding.
